Eating food that tastes of disappointment

So I wake up hungry, the previous day my family had bought pastries, with danish cream and then there was the mysterious almond one, having almonds… and I think powder sugar… well have you ever wondered what sadness tastes like? Without the seasoning of salty tears? Well it tastes like a lack of solid flavor, more so it tasted like bread without the proper things to give it the nice tanginess that bread has. So don’t eat the almond pastry.

The Hobbit Book!

So now you know that gaming is what got me into the Tolkien work.. it surprised me quite a bit that a game was based on a book. Shocked pikachu face. Wow it used direct quotes from the book! Whoa! The levels are named after the chapters!! (Give or take one, Troll-hole, though you can’t blame them for that one, a level called, a short rest really wouldn’t make much sense. Eventually I was able to read the actual book. It read a lot like a father telling his children a bedtime story with a mystical air even in the darker of times. My favorite point of this, is when Tolkien writes, ‘You would have laughed , (from a safe distance )’ mentioning how yes technically this is a horrible thing the dwarves are dealing with… but you gotta admit it could be funny seeing their beards wagging off in the distance. Keeping it light yet adventurous.

The Hobbit Game: More Mistakes!

So after I grew older and I wiser, I played the game again.. Smarter and much less fearful than before! Hooray! This time though another error occurred. I managed to only save with half a health point left so progression was now an impossibility. The writer in me wants to say that I pulled some amazing techno wizardry and solved the issue alas I again had to rely on my on to finish so oops

The Hobbit Game.

Is it weird that I swear my introduction to Tolkien was probably a 2003 platformer holding the name the Hobbit. It’s fitting in a way as gaming has always been a big part of my life. So why not have one of the best literary works be introduced to me this way as a game. I couldn’t beat it for the longest time, frankly the Flies and Spiders level was completely terifyihg. Not exactly the flies or spiders but the corpses! Yes little known to my 6 year old self but the Hobbit housed a spooky level. So being the brave boy I was… I watched my mom beat the level. That was that. I came back a few years later, my imagination had died down a bit and I was able to beat the fear and complete the game baring a few more mistakes.

For yourself

I don’t. know how many times I’ve heard something along the lines of do it for the niche how are you going to market it. Well technically I’m not.. Technically we are always making someone money every time we open our phones up. So let’s just say you should do what you want.. doing it for you and not the monetary gain will keep the burnout away. Here’s to hoping.
